It seems like yesterday I was saying that I can’t believe its October! And now we are nearly halfway through the month and it’s hard to believe that Halloween, Thanksgiving, graduation, and Christmas are right around the corner. Time is sure flying by! It’s been a busy month for me, obviously since I haven’t had time to post anything lately, but it’s been a very good month too!
One piece of news that has happened this month is that I have begun training for an awesome opportunity to volunteer at Piedmont Women’s Center, a place where women can come for free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. Many of the women that come are abortion-minded, meaning that they are thinking seriously about aborting the child they are carrying. Ultrasounds are a great way to show that there isn’t just a blob of tissue in them, but a living being, a beautiful little human being that not only has a heartbeat, but legs, arms, hands, fingernails, and everything that you and I have. What makes this so exciting for me is that I get to do the ultrasounds (thanks to getting my degree soon)!!

And not only do I get to do the ultrasounds of the precious little ones, but I also get the opportunity to talk with the women and openly share my faith and love of Christ with them!!! The center concentrates a great deal on providing counseling and support to these women who come with confusion, fear, loneliness, guilt, grief, and pain, sharing with them the comfort and peace that only God can offer in times of need. In fact, if a woman comes to us after having an abortion, we welcome them with loving arms and have a Bible study just for them to help them get through the mix of emotions they are dealing with. This is an amazing ministry and I can’t wait to be a part of it.

If you think about it, your prayer would be greatly appreciated. This ministry is not something that Satan likes and is a battlefield for spiritual warfare and the more prayers the better. Also, one of Piedmont Women’s Centers is located next to an abortion clinic on Grove Rd. Pray that the hearts of the two doctors that perform the abortions would be changed and that they would somehow see the error of their ways. There is a blessing that the center is there, because a lot of the women come through our doors thinking we are the place to have the abortion done and at times leave having changed their minds, but it would be wonderful if there wasn’t an abortion clinic in Greenville at all. Lastly, pray for the women that come through…that their hearts would be touched and they would leave with a new understanding and, hopefully, a relationship with Christ.
